The short answer

Send 600x500 and your ad is ready for most places

Build your main ad at 600x500. It is the sharp version of 300x250, the size that reaches the most places, and it covers display everywhere we run it. Videos go on YouTube, public or unlisted. Social ads use story and feed sizes. Check the text at half size before you send, because small text is the number one reason ads underperform.

Why specs matter

An ad built at the wrong size gets sent back, or it gets squeezed and the text goes soft. Either way your listing sits waiting. Getting the size right up front means your ads go live on time and look sharp on every site.

How it works

Display

Google Display ads, custom audience targeting, geofencing and CRM targeting all use the same sizes, so you build once and the ad works everywhere.

  • 600x500 is the one that matters most. It's the 2x version of 300x250, so it stays crisp on sharp screens and reaches the most places. If you only build one, build this.
  • 600x1200 is the tall vertical spot. It gets more attention when it shows up, but fewer sites have room for it. On its own it means fewer views and visits to your listing, so run it alongside 600x500, not instead of it.

For display ads, PNG is preferred and files stay under 150kb.

If you export from Compass tools at 1250x1042, that is fine. The Hugo resizer brings it down to the right size for you.

YouTube

Upload your video to YouTube and send us the link. Public or unlisted both work. Vimeo and Dropbox links are not supported by YouTube. Any video used as a YouTube ad must first live as a video on YouTube.

Social

Social ads use two shapes. Story ads are tall and vertical, built for full-screen phones. Feed ads are squarer, built for scrolling. Send both if you can and we run each where it fits.

  • Story: 1080x1920
  • Feed: 1080x1080 (square) or 1080x1350 (a bit taller)

The Canva tip

Building in Canva? At 600x500, zoom to 50% and look at your ad. That is close to the real size people see it. If you have to squint to read the text, make it bigger. Tiny text is the number one reason ads underperform.

Which packages include it
